Chameleons are well known for their ability to change colour.  Colour change in these lizards occurs is used to communicate with other chameleons for reproduction and territorial defense.  Colour can also reflect the lizards temperature.  Dark colours indicate cool temperature and light colours indicate warm temperature.   (Photo: Joshua V.
