Chameleons have a special characteristic that assists them with climbing and walking in trees.  They have 5 fingers, but have the first three digits fused together and the last two fused together.  This forms a V-shaped hand that is much more effective in grasping sticks and branches as they climb.   Pictured above is a panther chameleon (Furcifer pardalis).  (Photo: Joshua V.
