Program Coordinator
Sales/Program Coordinator (PC) – Job Description
Overview:
Our Program Coordinators are the Company’s sales representatives for our educational and appearance programs. They are either full or part time staff members who develop new accounts primarily in the area in which they work.

Program Coordinator
Sales/Program Coordinator (PC) – Job Description
Overview:
Our Program Coordinators are the Company’s sales representatives for our educational and appearance programs. They are either full or part time staff members who develop new accounts primarily in the area in which they work.
Duties of the Program Coordinator:
- Develops new customers through phone, e-mail, personal presentations, visits, etc. to potential customers;
- Follows up on leads received from the office;
- Works primarily in an area close to their home.
- Sales – has previous sales experience either with the public and /or with corporations/ businesses;
- Follow-up – have held positions in which they demonstrated a track record of handling details as part of their day to day job;
- Computer Literate – can work in word, excel and a scheduling program;
- Organization – is a well organized individual able to manage their time appropriately;
- Patience – able to be flexible and patient, needs to be consistent in their timing and content when dealing with their costumers;
- Reporting – reports are accurate and on time;
- Adaptability – Is able to learn the different programs and activities we offer;
- Independent – can work without supervision.
We are looking for an independent contractor who would like to work from their home.
Educational Instructors
Education Instructor - (EI) – Job Description
Overview
Instructors are lively, animated, fun, resourceful people who enjoy working in the education community and providing entertainment at the many appearances Reptilia does.
Attributes & Abilities
- Energy – Person must be energetic;
- Personality – Lively, animated, enjoys fun, able to relate to students and large crowds;
- Performer– Must have stage presence and be able to perform on stage to catch the audience’s imagination and maintain their engagement;
- Crowd Control - Is able to take charge of small or a large crowd and maintain control;
- Voice – Must have a strong, projecting voice and clear pronunciation of the language;
- Appearance –The individual is always dressed properly, as per our dress code;
- Humour – To enjoy the job and do well at it, the EI must have a good sense of humour;
- Patience – Patience and understanding are a must;
- Punctuality – The EI is on the job early;
- Showmanship – EI’s are able to provide a good session and be mentally prepared, be it for a class studying the environment or for a crowd of 2,000;
- Physical Fitness – job requires some lifting, handling animals, setting up the room and cleaning it may require physical activity, must be able to carry 50lbs;
- Knowledge of Reptiles and subject matter – Knowledge of all subjects they teach and the reptiles they use is an asset;
- Experience –Experience in teaching or handling groups of children as well as handling reptiles definitely is an asset to the EI.
Duties of the Education Instructors
- Provides a quality educational experience or great show;
- Picks up reptiles at the facility for the show and places their name tags on all the animal cages for the animals that they have taken for the day;
- Supplies proper heated environment for the reptiles (ie. hot water bottles and heated car for transport);
- Sets up room when presentation is on site and clean room when the group is finished their visit or is finished with the room;
- Returns reptiles to their right place and cleans up containers or bags that were used for the presentation(s);
- Keeps a count of all persons in the room for On-site presentations for billing purposes and ensures that these numbers and the client are presented to the receptionist so the bill can be prepared and covered;
- Gives out our literature and other items.
Hosts
Birthday Host - (BH) - Job Description
Overview: Birthday Hosts are energetic, fun and resourceful people who love kids. BH's are mature responsible individuals who, for the most part, are working their way through college. They host Reptilia’s birthday parties which occur any day of the week, but predominately on Saturdays and Sundays.
Attributes and Abilities:
- Energy - Person must be energetic;
- Personality - Lively, animated, enjoys fun, able to relate to kids and their parents;
- Take Charge - is a take charge person and who can take control of the birthday party;
- Appearance - The individual is always dressed properly, as per our dress code;
- At ease with reptiles – Must be comfortable handling small and reptiles;
- Humour - enjoys people, fun and has a good sense of humour;
- Flexible - able to roll with the punches, adaptable, and doesn't sweat the small stuff;
- Punctual - Arrives in good time to host their birthday parties;
- Showmanship - Performers, able to put on a great show and always mentally prepared;
- Knowledge of Parties - Not necessary but an asset in knowing how to set up, clean up and serve the kids and their parents;
- Knowledge of reptiles - some knowledge helpful but we will train;
- Physical Fitness - job requires some lifting, handling animals, setting up the room and cleaning it may require physical activity, must be able to carry 50lbs;
- Experience - knows how to deal with groups of kids and their parents.
- Available some week nights but all weekends;
- Provide an exciting and enjoyable experience for the guests;
- Set up the party room ahead of guest arrival;
- Make sure all material is ready for party (Food is ready - enough plates, forks and cups in the room, the host's reptiles are prepared;
- Meet, greet and seat guests;
- Serve food to the birthday party guests;
- Clean up after the food, and set up room for animal show;
- Conduct show on our reptiles – we train how we do this;
- Encourage a return visit;
- Talk about the company's education programs and the work we do with the School Boards;
- Encourage the consideration of a reptile for the Birthday Person;
- Complete the billing process accurately and get payment for the party;
- Take guests into the zoo for a tour;
- Clean up room after party.
