How Many People Can I Bring To My Party? |
As many as you want. We have been thrilled
to have many parties of more than 100 people. Parties are priced
based on the number of people attending. The base price includes
up to 15 adults and/or children and extra Guests – adults
or children are just $11 each.
| 2)
Is There a Minimum Number For a Party? |
No, but the more Guests, the merrier.
| 3)
Is the Party Room Dedicated to Our Party or Shared by Others? |
Your party room is dedicated only to your party.
No one else is allowed to enter.
| 4)
Why Do Kids Enjoy Reptilia Parties? Is It More Than Just Fun? |
Kids are naturally curious and reptiles are
unusual animals so most kids enjoy seeing them – and often
– this may be the first time some of the kids have ever
seen some of the animals we have at Reptilia.
As well, amidst the fun, your Guests are learning
about nature. Some kids even go back to their schools and talk
about their parties. Next thing we know, the teacher is on the
phone booking Reptilia to come to the school and teach one of
our curriculum enrichment programs (which we have taught for more
than 4,000 education community customers now).
| 5)
If I Book People That Do Not Show Up – Am I Charged
For Them? |
No – we recognize that everyone can’t
make it, so we don’t charge for Guests who don’t join
you. We do charge for the extra pizza ordered for the no shows
though, but if it is left, please take it home with you if you
wish.
| 6)
I Don’t Want to Pay For ‘Extra Parents’
That Want to Hang Around – What Do I Do? |
We suggest that you write a little note in
the invitation that parents of an invited child are welcome to
stay for the party at the nominal rate of just $11 each. By so
doing, the parents will know that a fee applies for their presence.
Everyone you have invited as part of your party
is given a Reptilia wristband and before party starts, your Party
Host will ask those without wristbands to go to reception and
purchase one. Should they not wish to do so, we will give them
a special rate to visit the zoo while their child attends your
party.
Should they wish to have something to do other
than visit the zoo, Vaughan Mills Shopping Centre is a 3 minute
drive from Reptilia.
| 7)
Am I Charged For Parents Who Attend and Then Want To Stay
In the Party Room? |
Charges are based on the total attendance,
so yes, you would be charged for those extra Guests.
Infants in arms are free of charge.
| 9)
Do We Have to Bring Anything Such As Plates, Forks, etc? |
We provide white napkins, plates, table cloth,
cups, cutlery and candles.
| 10)
Room Decoration (Optional) |
For just $19 we will decorate your party room
with garlands and floating balloons, or if you wish, you are welcome
to bring your own.
| 11)
How Much Pizza Is Included in the Party Price? |
Included as part of the price of the party
are 4 x 14 inch pizzas from Boston Pizza with up to 3 toppings
which is 24 good sized slices of pizza. Extra pizzas are just
$14 so if you have kids (or adults) with big appetites or have
more than 15 Guests attending, feel free to order all the extra
pizza you want.
Please let us know by the Wednesday before your
party how many guests you expect and how many extra pizzas you
want so we can order them for you!
| 12)
Can I Bring Some of My Own Food? |
You can bring as much food as you would like,
in fact, we’ve even had one party bring in a whole roast
pig!
Just one small reminder is that our party rooms
are usually booked back to back, so the food left over should
be removed to your car before the zoo tour starts. We have helpers
to give you a hand with this and with your gifts as well.
| 13)
Cakes By Robert – How To Order? (Optional) |
Our cakes are the absolute best and Robert
has made them for us since Reptilia began doing birthday parties
in 1997. The cakes come in three flavours – chocolate, vanilla
or marble. The cut off time for the cake is the Monday prior to
your party to give Robert time to work his magic in making your
magnificent creation.
And the best part is that you can choose the
decoration on the cake! The reptilian theme continues and you
can choose from a turtle, a croc, a lizard, a snake or even T
Rex himself! The cost of one of Robert’s single layer 9”
x 13” wonders is just $48 and it serves 15 to 20 people.
| 14)
Special Dietary Needs?? |
All Cakes By Robert are nut free. Gluten free,
egg free or dairy free cakes are available at an additional cost.
| 15)
How Many Days Before the Party Can I Make Changes? |
Up to Wednesday night before your party is
fine, except for the cake as mentioned above.
| 16)
Can You Supply the Loot Bags? (Optional) |
Yes, we supply thousands of loot bags each
year – and they are reptile themed with lots of items. We
have two sizes - $5 and $10 and should you order a few more than
you use, we don’t charge for extra loot bags not used.
| 17)
Which Birthday Room Will My Party Be In? |
Party room assignments are done on Friday morning,
so if you wish to check after lunch on Friday, we would be happy
to tell you which room you have. And please remember, bring more
Guests - the bigger your party is the larger the room you will
have!
Because of our reptiles, we keep our Facility
at 27C all the time while the birthday rooms are set at 23C, which
means that even in the winter, you won’t be cold. And there
are plenty of racks on which to hang your winter clothes.
| 19)
What Age Groups Are Reptilia Parties Suitable For? |
We have done parties for 1 year olds (though
this may be a bit young for most kids) and we had an 82nd birthday
party booked at the Facility for Grandmother by her Grandkids.
| 20)
When Should We Come to Reptilia For the Party? |
We suggest that you give your Guests a 10 to
15 minute lead time for the party, as some Guests are late and
miss part of the party. Your party room is ready 5 minutes before
your start time and is setup with tables, plates, and cups ready
to go, so Guests can go right in just before the party gets started.
We recommend that you write on the invitations
‘Please be here 10 minutes before the party starts at xx:xx’
(insert the start time for your party), for example. This allows
time to park, enter and hang up coats.
| 21)
Who Do I Talk To When I Arrive? |
Your Host will be there to meet you as well,
our receptionists are completely familiar with your party. We
look forward to seeing you and your Guests.
| 22)
How Long Does the Party Last? |
Your party Host is with you for 1hr and 45minutes
of which about 1 hour and 20 minutes is spent in your party room.
The balance of the time is spent with your Host as you and your
Guests enjoy a personalized tour of our zoo.
| 23)
What Do We Do After the Tour is Finished? |
After the tour is finished, you and your Guests
are free to remain in the zoo as long as you want. Take in a feeding,
or see another show – we are happy to accommodate everyone
for as long as you wish to stay with us!
| 24)
How Much Time Is Spent on Food, the Private Show and the Tour? |
The birthday party schedule is:
Food & drink time – First 40 minutes
Reptile show – interactive with chance to touch harmless
reptiles, photos, videos – Next 40 minutes
Host guided tour of the zoo – Last 25 minutes
Please Note: Parties that are prior to 11:00
AM start with the show, followed by the food and then the guided
tour
| 25)
How Does Reptilia Know Who Is Part of the Party From Guests
Who Are Just Visiting the Zoo? |
Each Party Guest has a colour coded wristband.
| 26)
What Do I Do If the Birthday Person Decides They Want a Reptile? |
This can be a passing fancy based on the excitement
of the day or it may be genuine. Start off slowly – talk
with one of our reptile store Cast about the pros and cons of
owning a reptile. Then, buy a modest valued book on the reptile
being considered.
Let the birthday person study the book for a
week or so and if the interest level remains high, bring them
back to Reptilia and we will conduct a quiz to see if they know
(and as much as we can tell) have the level of knowledge to be
able to keep the reptile they want.
If so, start modestly. You don’t have
to invest a huge sum to get started for most reptiles. And they
are much easier to care for than virtually any other pet.

Party at Your Place – Questions & Answers That May
Help You!! |
| 27)
Should I Have My Party at the House or at Reptilia? |
Good question. There are advantages to either.
In the case of having your party at Reptilia,
the clean up is up to us. No dishes to do!
The big plus after food and your private reptile
show is the zoo!! The reptiles in the zoo are from all over the
world and include alligators, huge snakes, highly venomous snakes
and even a pair of Nile Crocs – one of which is nearly 1,200
lbs in weight.
The zoo is large – our facility is about
25,000 feet in size (all indoors) and the zoo occupies the largest
portion of the Facility. Every day you can see feedings of various
reptiles (please refer to the web site under Zoo – Feedings
for the schedule). As well, free of charge to all party goers,
our live performance theatre operates each weekend, on the hour
with shows of different subjects, designed to appeal to kids and
adults alike.
At home, you have the benefit of having everything
right there. Guests come to the house, Reptilia’s Host arrives
and you can have the show and set your own schedule for everything.
Either way, we look forward to partying with
your birthday person and Guests!!
| 28)
How Many People Can I Bring To My Party? |
As many as you want.
| 29)
Is There An Extra Charge For More People? |
No – unless you are going to have a few
hundred. Then we have better options for larger gatherings.
| 30)
What Do I Do To Prepare For Reptilia’s Visit To My Home? |
Please have the area in which you wish the
show held at a temperature of at least 23C, although 25 or even
26 is better for the animals. We recommend that you have enough
space so our host can walk between the kids. This allows everyone
who wishes, to touch the harmless reptiles.
If you have carpet on the floor we advise that
you put a plastic cover over it in case of some accidents –
Oops – animals don’t concern themselves with everything
we humans do!
As much as you can, please leave a space close
by for our Host to park and off load our reptilian friends as
in some cases parties have been delayed because the Host was unable
to find parking anywhere near the party site.
| 31)
What Animals Does Reptilia Bring to My House? |
Reptilia brings a variety of reptiles, amphibians
and arachnids. These include:
