Reptilia strives to inform reptile and amphibian owners and future hobbyists about responsible, ethical selection, and proper care of reptiles and amphibians. The approach of many educational institutions and academics is to discourage private owners from having these animals.  We take a different approach. Although we do not recommend reptiles and amphibians for most people, our attitude toward retail sale of reptiles and amphibians is as follows: The public will always have a fascination with reptiles and amphibians and some will choose to maintain them in captivity.

Educational facilities, such as Reptilia, should ensure that the hobbyist is well informed and that the animals get the best possible care. That is, instead of chastising the hobbyists – educate them.  We achieve this objective in three ways:

First, Reptilia provides quality domestically bred reptiles and amphibians and all the supplies needed to care for them.  We do not sell wild caught reptiles.  Second, we also sell a wide range of books to help you learn more about reptiles, amphibians, and their care in captivity.  Third, we educate pet owners about proper care of their reptiles and amphibians via our care sheets, free seminars, and newsletters.
