Iguana Iguana:
Guide for Successful Captive Care.  Frye, Fredric L.
Krieger Publishing Company, Malabar Florida.  Pp 178. Published 1995

Fredric L. Frye’s Iguana Iguana, Guide for Successful Captive Care is a valuable reference guide for every Iguana keeper’s library. The initial chapter, Understanding Green Iguanas, begins with describing their body features, shows anatomical images to reinforce the text and continues with common behaviour exhibited by Iguanas for a greater understanding of these large and powerful creatures.  The information about handling and restraint is particularly helpful anyone working with iguanas as they are not naturally docile by nature.  The basic issues associated with Iguana husbandry revolve around feeding, nutrition, and housing which are discussed in the following chapters.  Toxic-Plant Poisoning is a chapter you definitely want available when creating a natural terrarium and providing plants in an outdoor enclosure.  The chapters on disorders, infections, parasites and reproduction are informative and explained in great detail than in most books.  Iguana Iguana, Guide for Successful Captive Care is a must read and a must have for all Iguana enthusiasts.
