Reptilia
Christmas Camp 2006/2007
Reptilia is proud to
announce it’s first ever Christmas Break Camp!
Now that we are settled into our new 25,000 square foot facility, we are ready to provide both our customers (and the region) with a winter break day camp that entertains and educates children.
Our goals are simple:
to teach children about nature and reptiles
to give them experience caring for reptiles
to increase their self-esteem
Food: Snacks will be provided for the campers in the morning and afternoon.
Staff: Any actual animal handling will be done by Reptilia’s professional handlers/instructors. In additional, any seasonal staff will have gone through extensive training prior to the opening of camp.
Program:
The children will be divided into 6 different groups. They are:
Tadpoles: ages 5-6
Geckos: ages 7-8
Rattlers: ages 9-10
Caimans: ages 11-12
King Cobras: ages 13+ (Our Junior Zoo Keeper Program)
Each group will take part in age-appropriate activities including:
interactive lessons about animals
hands-on experiences with animal care
arts and crafts
helping to do stage shows in our theatre
aiding our zookeepers in actually feeding some of the animals
Time: 9:00 AM - 4:00 PM on December 27, 28 and 29 and January 2, 3, 4, and 5.
Fees: $39/child/day
First
Aid: All staff have basic first aid training.
Safety: At Reptilia, the well-being of the animals, clients, and staff is ensured through proper training of animal handlers and controlled settings for live interaction.
Before and After-Camp Programs: We realize that many people commute to work, so need to drop-off their kids a bit earlier and pick them up a bit later. With that, these programs are available for an additional $5/day. The extended hours are 8:00am-9:00am and 4:00pm-5:00pm.
