Reptilia
Christmas Camp 2007/2008
Our goals are simple:
teach children about nature and reptiles
give them experience caring for reptiles
provide a safe and stimulating environment for children to learn about reptiles
prevent children from getting eaten by our reptiles ;-}
Food: Snacks will be provided for the campers in the morning and afternoon. Lunch can be provided at an additional fee. Hot dog, drink, and chips $3.99, Pizza, drink, and chips $4.99.
Staff: Animal handling will be done by Reptilia’s professional handlers/instructors. In addition, seasonal staff will have gone through training prior to the opening of camp.
Program:
The children will be divided into 3 different groups. They are:
Geckos: ages 5-7
Rattlers: ages 8-10
Gators: ages 11-13
Each group will take part in age-appropriate activities including:
interactive lessons about animals
hands-on experiences with animal care
arts and crafts
helping with stage shows in our theatre
aiding our zookeepers in actually feeding some of the animals
Time: 9:00 AM -
4:30 PM on December 27, 28, 31 and January 2, 3,
and 4.
Fees: $39/child/day

Before and After-Camp Programs: We realize that many people commute to work, so need to drop-off their kids a bit earlier and pick them up a bit later. The extended hours are 8:30am-9:00am and 4:30pm-5:00pm. With that, these programs are available for an additional $5/early or late only or $7 for both early drop off and late pick up.
Safety: At Reptilia, the well-being of the animals, clients, and staff is ensured through proper training of animal handlers and controlled settings for live interaction.
