Reptilia Zoo Feeding Schedule

Feeding Schedule has been altered to improve viewing due to increased attendance during March Break.

This hatchling reticulated python is stretching its jaws after finishing a meal.  This is just one of the species you can observe during feeding times at the zoo.  All snakes are fed frozen thawed rodents rather than live prey to eliminate any risk of injury to our reptiles.  Reptilia keepers are on hand during each feeding to explain the unique aspects of each reptile's feeding behaviour and answer your questions during feeding time.

We are often asked if these events are suitable for children.  The answer is yes, provided that their parents have the right approach.  These feedings are an opportunity to view nature in action and should be seen as a learning experience.  As stated above, our keepers are always on hand to explain everything to our visitors and ensure that everyone young, old, and in between comes away with a new perspective on the interaction between predator and prey.
